Praava Health launches telemedicine services during coronavirus outbreak

Praava Health has introduced several new telemedicine options in response to the Covid-19 pandemic for all patients and the broader community.

These services include a dedicated Covid-19 hotline and video consultations with Praava's doctors so that the patients can access health services without leaving the safety of their homes and reduce further transmission of the virus, according to a release issued today.

"During the crisis, we are doing all we can to serve our community. As an outpatient provider, Praava Health is focused on patients who do not yet require hospital care, and thus trying to prevent clogging of the hospital systems at a time when patients should stay at home as much as possible to avoid spread of disease," said Praava's Founder, Chairman, and CEO Sylvana Q Sinha.

"We have converted most in-person appointments to video consults, although our flagship facility remains open for imaging and outpatient procedures," she added.

Patients can call Praava's hotline 10648 between 8:00am and 10:00pm every day for free screening calls with doctors and get answers to any questions regarding the coronavirus. During these screening calls, doctors assess patients' conditions and guide them accordingly, including providing information on where to get tested for those who may be at high risk of Covid-19 or treatment options for people who are ill.

Praava is also offering 15-minute video consultations with doctors for all patients, including those with existing and chronic conditions that need to be managed during this time, with follow-up instructions to be emailed to the patients, including any required prescriptions. Praava's mobile phlebotomists can do home sample collection for any required testing, while home delivery of any prescribed medicine is also done in collaboration with Shohoz.

Praava is the first private healthcare provider to provide doctors for the government's 333 hotline for Covid-19 and supports the government's Covid-19 testing efforts by contributing home sample collection services from Praava mobile phlebotomists.

Praava has partnerships with several corporate organisations, whose employees rely on Praava for their health services. To serve these partners, Praava has set up dedicated hotlines and is conducting virtual awareness and training sessions for their employees.

The healthcare provider is also developing tools to raise awareness and to help to triage patients to reduce the burden on hospitals, including a Facebook chatbot, an online risk screening tool that can help patients to self-assess for Covid-19, and a dedicated website with national and international resources on the pandemic.
