India looks at int’l cooperation in fight against Covid-19 as ‘its duty’

India today said it sees international cooperation in the fight against Covid-19 particularly with its neighbours as "its duty."

"In the neighbourhood, we have already given medicines and other essential supplies and held training sessions for experts from these countries on vaccine-related issues," External Affairs Ministry spokesman Anurag Srivastava told the virtual weekly media briefing.

As India rolls out the vaccine, Srivastava recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi 's announcement that India's vaccine production and delivery capacity would be used for the benefit of all humanity in fighting this crisis."

The MEA spokesman's reply came to a specific question by an Indian journalist if there will be a government-to-government agreement between India and Bangladesh on vaccine supply and when Bangladesh will get the vaccine from India, reports our New Delhi correspondent.
