Cumilla village under lockdown after patient detected with coronavirus

A village in Cumilla's Titash Upazila was locked down after a person tested positive for coronavirus infection in the area.

Biramkandi village under Koriakandi Union was put under lockdown, reports our local correspondent quoting Abul Fazal Mir, deputy commissioner of Cumilla.

Samples of the infected person were collected and sent to Dhaka on Wednesday following reports of his symptoms.

"The positive test result came back yesterday afternoon," the civil surgeon added.

The infected person is a rice wholesaler in Dhaka. He recently went to his home with fever, cold and cough, said Rashida Akter, upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) of Titash.

With this, the total number of coronavirus positive patients in Cumilla stands at three.

Earlier, two children of Burichang upazila were detected to be coronavirus positive.
