4 burnt in Cox’s Bazar firebomb attack

At least four people were burnt as miscreants hurled petrol bomb at a bus in Chakaria upazila of Cox’s Bazar this evening.

The incident took place around 6:00pm on Cox’s Bazar-Chittagong highway hours after the BNP-led 20-party alliance announced a fresh spell of 72-hour countrywide hartal from tomorrow morning.

Miscreants hurled a petrol bomb at the bus of Saudia Paribahan in Nalvila area when it was heading towards Chittagong from Cox’s Bazar, Nirupam Pal, in-charge of the paribahan told our Cox’s Bazar correspondent.

However, Masud Alam, assistant superintendent of police in Cox’s Bazar, told that the bus was skidded off the road after the driver lost control over the wheels following the attack.

“Miscreants hurled petroleum like substances at the bus, leaving four passengers injured,” the police official added.

The victims were admitted to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital and Chakari upazila health complex.
