Online BNP standing committee meets

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia held a meeting with her part's standing committee members this evening and discussed country’s latest political situation and to fix the party’s next course of action.

With Khaleda in the chair the meeting was held at her Gulshan office around 8:00pm.

Talking to The Daily Star, a member of the BNP standing committee -- the highest policy making body of the party -- said, existing law and order situation specially following the seven murder in Narayanganj, restructure of BNP, Dhaka city, among other issues were discussed in the meeting.

“We want to take political mileage centering the sensational abduction and killing of seven people in Narayanganj. We want to wage campaign among people about government’s total failure to ensure law and order situation in the country,” a BNP standing committee member told The Daily Star.

He said the meeting also discussed BNP-led 19-party alliance’s next course action regarding their demand for holding a fresh national election under a non-party administration soon.
 
The last meeting of BNP standing committee was held on April 9.
