One held with 30 smuggled gold bars in Dhaka airport

Customs intelligence officials arrested a man with 30 gold bars weighing around 3 Kilogrammes at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital yesterday evening.
Liton Mia, 35, who came from Singapore by a Tiger Airlines flight, was arrested at a green channel, said Moinul Khan, director general of Customs Intelligence.
The gold bars worth around Tk 1.5 crore were hidden inside his waist belt.
During preliminary interrogation, Liton informed that he was given Tk 20,000 for carrying the gold bars, said Moinul.
