Office hours for the month of Ramadan have been fixed from 9:00am to 3:30pm with a 15-minute prayer break from 1:15pm for government, semi-government, autonomous and semi-autonomous institutions.

The cabinet at its regular weekly meeting held with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair at the Secretariat today reset the new office timing.

However, the Supreme Court, banks, insurance companies, the offices of Bangladesh Railway, post offices and other such organisations will fix their own timetable for the fasting month according to their own rules and regulations, the cabinet meeting sources said.

All secondary and higher secondary schools across the country will remain closed during the month of Ramadan, according to other decision of the cabinet.
