-    Pakistan military shell Muktibahini settlements in Nilkkhi base in Comilla. After nearly five hours of gunfight, 40 Pakistan military members are killed and two freedom fighters dead.
-    Pakistan military continue shelling with canons and rockets through Sonaimuri and Chatkhil in sector 2. They are intercepted by a Muktibahini team triggering intense fight of nearly three hours. Five innocent civilian lives are lost. Pakistan military sustain some casualties.
-    Bangladesh newspaper report that Muktibahini’s eight guerillas attack Nawabganj Police Station and kill 52 Pakistan military men and capture 28 armed Razakars. One freedom fighter embraces martyrdom.
-    Pakistan president Yahya Khan says in Rawalpindi, that over 20 lakh East Pakistanis took shelter in India. An international agency will oversee the repatriation of true Pakistanis.
-    Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi reaches London to discuss Pakistan-India issues and other important international affairs with British leaders.
-    Lt Gen Niazi visits the northeastern frontier and instructed the security forces to resist any form of attack.
-    An advertisement is published in The Guardian on behalf of Pakistan Solidarity, a London-based organisation, where Indira Gandhi is accused to have been destroying Pakistan. It says, India is holding the refugees in the process.
-    Two hundred Razakars take oath in Rajshahi. Iftehadul Olama chief and district peace committee Secretary Azizur Rahman conducted the oath taking and urged to eradicate enemies with jihadi attitude.
