Nur's driver on 7-day remand

A Narayanganj court today granted seven-day remand for Mahibulla, a driver of Nur Hossain, the prime accused of the sensation seven-murder.

The court also placed Samrat, a brother-in-law of Mahibullah, on a two-day remand in the same case, reports our Narayanganj correspondent.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Chadni Rupam granted the remand after the members of Detective Branch (DB) of police produced the duo, who was arrested in Noakhali last night, in connection with the abduction and murders.

On April 27, some people abducted Narayanganj City `Corporation councilor and panel mayor Nazrul Islam and his four associates with their car.

Senior lawyer Chandan Sarker and his driver, who were following the abductors, were also kidnapped the same time from the Dhaka-Narayanganj link road.

A day after the abduction, Nazrul's wife Selina Islam filed an abduction case accusing Nur, Iqbal, Hashu, Siddhirganj AL leader Haji Yasin, Aminul Islam Raju and Anwar Hossain.

Six bodies, including that of Nazrul and Chandan, were found floating in the Shitalakkhya river on April 30, and another was found the following day.
