NSC demands its dues from BCB

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has been asked by the National Sports Council (NSC) to pay its dues, but neither party could confirm the amount.

“We issued a letter to the BCB in August asking them to pay all their dues. We are supposed to receive fifteen percent royalty of the gate money and ten percent of sponsorship deals, but since 1999 the NSC didn't receive any royalties from BCB. I am not sure about the amount, but BCB informed us that they are working on it,” said NSC secretary Shibnath Roy.

When contacted, BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury said: “I don't know whether there is any provision regarding ten percent royalty. I think they are looking at one side and we need to discuss the matter with them. You know BCB is most probably the only sports federation in the country to contribute to the government fund and we paid Tk 6 crore as taxes in the last fiscal year.”
