The Romanian government has declared that it will host the Bangladeshis now stranded in Ukraine for two days.

"By this time, Bangladesh embassy in Bucharest will arrange repatriation of them to Bangladesh," posted State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam in his verified Facebook page today.

Under this circumstance, Bangladeshis living in South and South-western regions of Ukraine have been advised to move towards the Romanian border, he said.

The Bangladesh embassy in Bucharest, Romania, will soon release a detailed announcement in this regard, said the junior minister.

The new development comes hours after Poland opened its border for the Bangladeshis expatriates in Ukraine.

Thousands of people – Ukrainian or foreigners – are rushing towards the Polish border after Russia began an all-out war against Ukraine yesterday.
