Passengers with passports can now enter Bangladesh from India seven days a week without no-objection certificate, which is issued from the High Commission office of Bangladesh in Kolkata.

The order from the Bangladesh home ministry reached Benapole Immigration Police today, said Benapole Immigration Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ahsan Habib.

Quoting the order, the OC said passport holders from both the countries can come to Bangladesh from India seven days a week. But they must bring a coronavirus negative certificate when they arrive in the country.

Sharsha Upazila Health Officer Dr Yusuf Ali said passport holders will be able to return to Bangladesh seven days a week from now onwards instead of three days a week.

"No NOC certificate is required from the Bangladeshi High Commission in India. But passengers, who test positive for coronavirus must stay in isolation," the health officer added.
