‘No doubt’ about Amit-Khaleda conversation

‘No doubt’ about Amit-Khaleda conversation

BNP has said its claim about the recent telephone conversation between its Chairperson Khaleda Zia and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Amit Shah is fully correct.
“We want to firmly inform all again that the information given to the media yesterday is fully correct,” said a statement signed by Maruf Kamal Khan, press secretary to Khaleda, this evening.
“BJP chief Amit Shah has been informed directly about the wellbeing of Khaleda Zia,” BNP said and criticised some media outlets for spreading misleading information.
“It is very much unexpected to create confusion by quoting anonymous diplomatic or other sources without verification from Amit Shah or his concerned officials.”
Saying telephone conversation between the chiefs of two major political parties of neighbouring countries is a very expected and normal matter, it termed the report motivated.
Earlier in the evening, the ruling Awami League claimed that it has information that no conversation was taken place between the chiefs of the two political parties.
Speaking at a press briefing, AL Joint Secretary General Mahbubul Alam Hanif termed the BNP’s claim about the telephone conversation as falsehood.
Maruf yesterday told journalists that the BJP chief telephoned Khaleda Zia on Wednesday night and enquired about her health condition.
