Shibir men cut Rajshahi BCL leader's tendon

Activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir today stabbed and cut the right-leg tendon of a Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader in Rajshahi city.

Shimul Ahmed Duke, 20, a class XII student of Agrani School and College, was BCL joint convener of Motihar thana unit, reports our Rajshahi correspondent.
Police detained two Shibir activists for their involvement with the attack, said Ziaur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Boalia Police Station.

The OC said at least five Shibir men covering their faces swooped on Duke and stabbed him severely in his legs, arms and back when he was going to college from his Meherchondi Moddhopara residence around 11:30am.
The Shibir men severed the tendon of his right leg, the police official said.

Duke, son of Nabir Ahmed, was whisked off to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital where he was undergoing a surgery till 12:30pm when the report was filed.
