Sangbad's 62nd anniversary today

The 62nd founding anniversary of the Sangbad, the oldest national daily of the country, will be observed today at a ceremony at its Purana Paltan office in the capital.
In 1951, businessman Giasuddin Ahmed founded the newspaper.
In 1954, Ahmadul Kabir bought the daily and served as its chief editor until his death in 2003.
The Sangbad played leading role in all democratic movements of the country.
