BNP allowed to hold 40th anniv rally at Nayapaltan

BNP has got permission from police to hold its 40th founding anniversary rally at Dhaka's Nayapaltan on September 1.

BNP leader Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anne confirmed it to The Daily Star this afternoon.

Earlier in the day, a delegation of the party went to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) headquarters in this regard, Anne said.

BNP sought permission for the rally either at Nayapaltan or Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital.

BNP has planned various programmes to mark its 40th founding anniversary, including holding the rally on that day.
