Painting exhibition at JKKNIU

A three-day painting exhibition that began on Monday at the conference room of Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU) in Trishal concluded yesterday.

The exhibition was held as part of annual programmes of Fine Arts Department of the university. A total of 37 students of Fine Arts Department took part in the exhibition.

More than 100 paintings -- watercolour, oil, print and poster colour -- were part of the exhibition. The subjects of the works were of varied interest: Liberation War, landscape, village markets, musical instruments, traditional handicrafts and more. Of the total participants at the exhibition, 17 were awarded prizes for their works.

Mohammad Emdadur Rashed, convener of the exhibition organising committee, said that the exhibition would inspire students of Fine Arts Department to excel in their academic career.

Earlier, vice-chancellor of JKKNIU inaugurated the exhibition as chief guest. He said the exhibition was a creative initiative and would benefit students and the university as well.
