'Opposition should forget past differences'

LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Zillur Rahman yesterday urged the opposition political parties to work unitedly for the greater interest of the nation, reports BSS.

He said the opposition should forget past differences in the holy month of Ramadan and join the forthcoming winter session of the Jatiya Sangsad.

The minister was addressing an Iftar party, organised by Bangladesh Krishak League at the central office of Bangladesh Awami League.

The party was chaired by president of Bangladesh Krishak League and State Minister for Land Alhaj Rashed Mosharraf.

Political advisor to the Prime Minister Dr S A Malek, State Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Mofazzel Hossain Chowdhury Maya (Bir Bikram), State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Satish Chandra Roy, general secretary of Krishak League and Whip Mizanur Rahman Manu, among others, addressed the gathering.

Zillur Rahman said in the holy month of Ramadan and at the beginning of the new year all political parties should abandon envious attitude towards one another and start fresh and concerted endeavours under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for building a "Sonar Bangla" as dreamt by father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
