Nayeemul, wife hurt

Amader Orthoneeti Editor Nayeemul Islam Khan and his wife Nasima Khan suffered injuries when an unknown gang hurled cocktails at their running car in the capital's Mohakhali last night.
The couple were admitted to Labaid Specialised Hospital around 11:00pm.
Nayeemul at the hospital told reporters that after joining a programme at Shaheen Hall in Mohakhali, he along with his wife and a guest were returning to their Dhanmondi residence around 10:45pm.
As their private car was taking a turn slowly near Mohakhali Flyover, some five to six men threw cocktails from both sides leaving the window glasses shattered, he said.
However, the injuries they suffered in several parts of their bodies were not major, hospital sources said.
“It was a planned attack,” said the journalist, adding that those affected by his recent comments on television talk shows might have been behind it.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique, among others, visited Nayeemul Islam at the hospital last night.
