Pan Asian Cuisine @ Water Garden Brasserie
In a spectacular ambience created by the burbles at Water Garden Brasserie over at Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden, a 10-day long food festival was inaugurated on 2 August, 2018. Intended to be an exotic trek along the culinary cuisines of Pan Asian flavours of the continent, the food festival features the glorified food of seven different Asian countries.
"The goal is to champion Asian flavours we all know and love and put out a food spread no one can say no to," shares Interim General Manager of Radisson, Ramanithara Shanmugam. "Instead of focusing on just one cuisine, why not bring specialties of seven different countries under a single umbrella to let people truly enjoy the culinary world of Asia?" he rhetorically states.
A press conference held on 29 July at Radisson's Mallika offered tasting samples for the grand event to effectively introduce the extraordinary festival as well.
The main event, however, was well-attended by diplomats such as the Ambassador of Vietnam Tran Van Khoa; Idham Zuhri Mohamed Yunus, chargé d'affaires of the Malaysian High Commission, and Assistant Immigration Attache Kamarul Azman Nusi. Also present were Assistant Director of Food and Beverage at Radisson- Kazi Sazedul Hai and Sr Sous Chef- Mofij Ullah.
At Pan Asia, a true haven for food connoisseurs, whole spreads of signature dishes native to the continent are put on display to amaze. Some of them include the Japanese special- chicken teriyaki, Malaysian staple- nasi lemak, Indonesian martabaka, Phad Thai kung of Thailand, the Singaporean love in a bowl- laksa and many more Vietnamese and Chinese flavours than can be described. With delectable desserts such as mango and coconut agar, kuihkatayap (coconut pancakes) and tart nenas (pineapple tart cookies), the vast dessert station is sure to satisfy any sweet tooth out there.
What's more, the live stations have been decorated in colourful shimmer and native influences. Right outside Water Garden Brasserie, a walk along the stations will have you in awe as you notice the array of sushi at the Japanese stall. You'll stop for a peek inside the bamboo steamers cooking away beloved Chinese dim sums. Sizzling prawns at the live tempura station will make it hard for you to pass up a plate. And if you miss a taste of home, a spread of Bengali food featuring fish and biriyani, among others is sure to ground your palate.
With the announcement of the epic festival lasting till 11 August, 2018, the food fiesta was officially inaugurated with a grand cake cutting, closing on a merry note.
