Couple held with cocktails

Police detained a couple near the Bangabandhu Bridge east end in Bhuapur upazila of Tangail last evening for possessing locally made bombs.
The arrest was made after a cocktail exploded in a one-room house at Pathailkandi Bazar where the detainees, Abul Kasem and his wife, live.
Nazmul Huda, officer-in-charge of Bangabandhu Bridge East Police Station, told The Daily Star that a cocktail exploded in the house around 7:00pm.
Immediately, a team from the police station, which is very close to the scene, rushed to the house and recovered two more live cocktails from there, he said.
The couple, who hail from Gaibandha district, was being quizzed.
