Vehicle owners, workers check driving licenses

Minibus owners and transport workers yesterday checked the papers of trucks and buses and license of the drivers in Joypurhat.

They set up a makeshift check post at Joypurhat Bus Terminal area.

Owner group's leaders Dewan Bedarul Islam Bedin, Yasin Ali and Khairul Islam, along with transport workers' leader Md Parvez led the drive.

They seized vehicles whose drivers did not have licences.

They also asked the bus and truck drivers to carry their licences.

During the three-hour drive, they checked the papers of 50 trucks and buses and found 11 drivers without license.
