A tribunal in Dhaka yesterday directed the officers-in-charge of Bagmara Police Station in Rajshahi and Nandigram Police Station in Bogra to attach the list of moveable properties of two fugitives -- Shariful Islam Khaled and Mamunur Rashid Ripon -- in the Holey Artisan Bakery attack case.

After receiving the reports on execution of arrest warrants, Judge Mojibur Rahman of Anti-Terrorism Special Tribunal passed the order directing the OCs to submit reports on execution of attachment of moveable properties by September 30.

On August 8, the tribunal accepted charge sheet against eight militants and issued arrest warrants against Khaled and Ripon.

The tribunal also relieved private university teacher Abul Hasnat Reza Karim of all charges.

Earlier on July 23, Inspector Humayun Kabir of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit pressed charges against the eight.

The other six accused are all behind bars.

Meanwhile, in reply to a show cause notice, jail authorities submitted a written statement saying they failed to produce Jahangir Alam alias Rajib Gandhi, another accused in the case, before the tribunal on two consecutive dates as he was on remand in another case filed in Panchagarh.

On July 1, 2016, militants stormed the Holey Artisan Bakery, an up-scale café in the capital's Gulshan diplomatic zone and killed 20 hostages, mostly foreigners. Two police officials were also killed during the 12-hour standoff.
