2 held with Phensidyl

Two drug peddlers were arrested yesterday with Phensidyl at Dariapur in the town.

The arrestees are Nurnabi Sheikh alias Mamun, 36, of Gopalganj Sadar upazila, and Mohammad Ripon, 19, of Monakasha village of the district.

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab)-5 intercepted a Dhaka- bound mango-laden truck from Kansat on Chapainawabganj-Rajshahi highway in Dariapur area.

After searching the truck, the elite force recovered 2,086 bottles of Indian Phensidyl in 12 plastic crates and arrested Nurnabi and Ripon. They also seized the truck and 60 maunds of mangoes in 125 crates, Rab said.
