2 'criminals' killed in ‘gunfights’ in Ctg, Magura

A suspected robber and a top criminal were killed in two separate "gunfights" in Magura and Chittagong early today. 

In Chittagong, the top criminal was killed in what police claimed a gunfight.

The deceased, Mohammad Nasir alias Mamun, 35, hailing from Anowara in Chittagong was killed in the "gunfight" in the city early today, Dulal Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Anowara Police Station, told The Daily Star.

Two light guns, five rounds of cartridges were recovered from the spot.

There were 18 criminal cases against Nasir in various police stations.

In Magura, the suspected robber was killed in what police claimed a gunfight with his rivals.

The deceased, Bashar Biswas Shohagh, 41, was killed in the gunfight with rivals which broke out over distribution of stolen money, our Jhenidah correspondent reports quoting Tariqul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Mohammadpur Police Station of the district.
