Roma Chowdhury shifted to ICU again

Freedom fighter Roma Chowdhury was shifted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of Chittagong Medical College Hospital again yesterday evening.

She has been undergoing treatment at the hospital since January.

A medical board led by Prof Ashok Dutta, head of the medicine department, has been formed for her treatment.

Dr Kazi Md Abrar Hasan, coordinator of the nine-member board, said her blood pressure was fluctuating, that was why she was shifted. “We're monitoring her condition.”

Roma suffered a fractured waist in January this year, and was admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.

The freedom fighter has written 18 books including a chronicle of her days in 1971 named "Ekattorer Janani".
