Eid advance bus ticket sales begin

Sales of advance bus ticket for Eid-ul-Azha started from today, a day after private bus owners postponed selling of tickets due to the unrest following the ongoing student protest demanding safe roads.

Owners might have sold a few tickets yesterday but they started full-fledged selling from today, Faruk Talukder Sohel, chairman of Bangladesh Bus Truck Association, told The Daily Star.    

Earlier, private bus operators fixed August 5 to start selling advance tickets for home-goers ahead of the Eid, which is expected to be celebrated on August 22. But they postponed it yesterday citing the unrest following the student protest.
