6 'muggers' arrested

Police arrested six alleged muggers during a drive in port city's Station Road area yesterday.

The arrestees are Suman Barua, 28, Md Yasin, 19, Md Ranju, 20, Md Shamchhu, 30, Md Badshah, 35, and Md Jahed, 18, said Mohammad Mohsin, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station. Police also seized two machetes from their possession.

On information, a team of police conducted the drive around 6:00am and arrested them, said the OC. A case was filed.
