6 hospitals fined for irregularities

A mobile court of Rapid Action Battalion in Savar fined six private hospitals Tk 23.8 lakh and sealed off one of them for various irregularities on Saturday and yesterday.

Goni General Hospital was fined Tk 4.05 lakh and its pharmacy Tk 75,000; Habib Clinic Tk 5 lakh; Momtaz General Hospital Tk 5 lakh, said Executive Magistrate Sarwoer Alam, who led the drive.

Besides, Palash Diagnostic Centre and Hospital was fined Tk 5 lakh; Ruposhi Bangla Hospital Tk 1.5 lakh and Shema General Hospital Tk 2.5 lakh.

Goni General Hospital was sealed off while pathology units of Habib Clinic and Palash Diagnostic Centre and Hospital were shut down, said the executive magistrate.

The fines were realised on the spot.
