Child killed in city brick fall

Two kids injured

An eight-year-old boy died and two other children were injured as bricks from a neighbouring building fell on them at Uttar Badda in the capital Friday afternoon.

The deceased -- Moddabir Hossain Sabbir -- was a Class-I student of Wander Dream International School in the area.

Sabbir along with his elder sister Samia Sultana Sadia, 12, and a neighbour Tariqul Islam Piam, 7, were playing on the roof of their two-story house when several bricks from an adjacent building suddenly fell on them, owner of the building Marjana Begum, told The Daily Star.

The three children were rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors pronounced Sabbir dead, DMCH sources said.
