A four-km-long tailback has formed on Dhaka-Aricha highway in Dhamrai due to road repair works.

All types of vehicles remained stranded on the road for more than an hour, our Savar correspondent reports.

Till filing this report at 3pm, there was still a heavy traffic jam on the road.

The tailback was created around 10am today (July 4, 2022) from Dhulivita to Nayarhat in the upazila due to the development and renovation work of the road, said Dhaka District North Traffic Inspector (Administration) Abdus Salam.

The traffic police are working to clear out the long tailback, he added.

Babul Hossain, driver of Dhaka bound Shubhajatra paribahan, said, "I haven't been able to cross 100m in the last two hours."

Despite repeated attempts, Manikganj Roads and Highways Department Executive Engineer Md Gaus-ul-Hasan Maruf did not receive the phone for comments.
