Ensure equal opportunities for children: speakers

Equal opportunities and a congenial academic atmosphere are crucial to developing the inner potential of each child, irrespective of gender, said speakers at a programme today.

They were speaking at a programme, titled "Model School Fair", organised by Plan International Bangladesh and Surovi with support from Directorate of Secondary & Higher Education (DSHE) under the "Child Bride to Bookworm" project. The fair took place on the Maniknagar Model High School premises in the capital.

Professor Mohammad Belal Hossain of DSHE inaugurated the programme as a chief guest.

Ashik Billah, head of the Central and Northern Region of Plan International Bangladesh; Dr Ferdousi Begum, SRHR lead of Plan International Bangladesh; DSHE Assistant Director Md Khalid Saifullah; District Education Officer Abdul Majid; Deputy Director (Special Education) of DSHE Syed Mainul Hassan; Surovi Executive Director Abu Taher, spoke at the programme among others.
