PM for making AL stronger as election approaching

Prime Minister and Awami League President, Sheikh Hasina, today asked leaders and activists to make the party stronger at the grassroots as the national election is approaching.

"The election is approaching. We have to make Awami League (AL) stronger," she said while presiding over AL Central Working Committee meeting at her official residence Gono Bhaban.

She reminded party leaders and workers that her government has been able to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic single handedly as AL appeared as a strong organization at the grassroots.

The AL chief continued that relentless support from leaders and activists of her party and its associate bodies alongside efforts from the government machinery have made it possible to control the Covid-19 situation.

She said that though AL leaders and activists have been standing beside the people hit hard by the pandemic, no other political party stands by them, rather criticises the government and gives speeches.

"We have seen no political party standing by the destitute. They have no interest. They only give speeches and criticise Awami League on regular basis. They are doing nothing for the people," she said.
