New political alliance formed with goal of “anti-govt movement”

An anti-government alliance comprising of seven political parties has been formed with a specific goal of "anti-government movement".

The alliance named, "Gonotantra Mancho", has been formed with the specific goal in the current political context of the country, JSD President ASM Abdur Rob announced at a press conference in Dhaka today (August 8, 2022).

The alliance was floated through a press conference at Dhaka Reporters Unity auditorium in the capital.

Components in the political alliance are Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD), Nagorik Oikya, Biplobi Workers Party, Ganosamhati Andolon, Gono Adhikar Parishad, Bhasani Anusari Parishad, and Rashtra Songskar Andolan.

Abdur Rob also said that the alliance has specific reform proposals and demands regarding the state, constitution, constitutional institutions, and governance.

Nagorik Oikya convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna, Biplobi Workers Party General Secretary Saiful Haque, Ganosamhati Andolon Chief Coordinator Zonayed Saki, Gono Odhikar Parishad Convener Reza Kibria; Bhasani Onusari Parishad Convener Rafiqul Islam; and Rastro Sangskar Andolon Coordinator Hasnat Kaiyum, among others, were present at the programme.
