The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) tonight granted BNP permission to hold its divisional rally at the Golapbagh field in the capital tomorrow.

They granted the permission under the condition that BNP will be held liable for any structural damage caused to the venue during the rally.

DSCC Spokesperson Abu Naser told The Daily Star around 10:45pm that they had gotten BNP's application and decided to grant permission to the party to hold the rally on the condition that the party will be responsible and liable for any structural damage the field suffers during the rally.

"We will issue a formal letter in this regard in the morning," he said.

The development came shortly after BNP sent a letter to DSCC seeking permission for the rally.

In a letter signed by Imran Saleh Prince, BNP's acting office secretary, BNP sought permission to use the field under DSCC for their rally.

It was also mentioned in the letter, addressed to the chief executive officer of DSCC, that the BNP had earlier sought and got permission from Dhaka Metropolitan Police to hold their rally at the venue.
