AL talks of democracy, but acts against it: Moyeen Khan

BNP standing committee member Abdul Moyeen Khan has alleged that the Awami League government talks of democracy but its activities go against democracy.

He made the remarks at a discussion, organised by Citizens' Voice Bangladesh, at the Jatiya Press Club today.

Criticising the authorities concerned, the BNP leader said the AL in the last 14 years portrayed Bangladesh as a democracy globally but it has now become evident at home and abroad that there is no democracy in the country.

He said the world is now eager to see "restoration of democracy in Bangladesh".

Moyeen called upon the government to step down saying that there was no shame in it.
