Nila Khan dies

Nila Khan died of old age complications yesterday in Bangkok. She was 83.

Nila was suffering from stomach cancer of late, said her cousin Rubana Huq, vice-chancellor of the Asian University for Women.

She went to Bangkok to meet her daughter Shaila Khan, country programme specialist of UDP, Bangkok. Shahnaz Rahman, an entrepreneur in Kolkata, is her another daughter.

Her body was flown to Dhaka.

Her namaz-e-janaza will be held at the Gulshan Society Mosque tomorrow and after that she will be buried at Banani Graveyard.

Nila Khan's Qul Khwani will be held after Asr prayers on March 26 at Baitul Aman Housing Society, family members said.
