Dilara Begum Parul no more

Dilara Begum Parul, a spearhead of the women's movement in Natore and president of the district women's council, passed away yesterday.

She was 82 years old.

She breathed her last around 8:45am at her residence in Shukulpatti area of ​​Natore town.

She was bedridden for a long time due to pancreatic cancer.

Dilara has left behind her three sons and numerous well-wishers.

Leaders and workers of various social and cultural organisations -- including civil-society and women's rights groups, as well as journalists and politicians of Natore -- expressed their grief and condolences.
