DDCL founder AKM Rafiquddin no more

AKM Rafiquddin, founder and managing director of leading consultancy firm Development Design Consultants (DDCL), breathed his last early today. He was 78 years old.

Under his leadership, DDCL has conducted and overseen various national infrastructure projects such as parts of Dhaka Metro Rail, Bangabandhu Railway Bridge, Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport Terminal-3, Kuril Flyover, Bangladesh National Building Code, Matarbari Power Plant and Port Facilities including new port etc. DDCL has also consulted on various projects abroad.

His first namaz-e-janaza will be held at Gulshan's Azad Mosque after Asr prayers today and his second janaza will be held at his village home in Pangsha upazila of Rajbari district.

He left behind his wife, a daughter, two sons, one son-in-law, two daughters-in-law, three grandchildren, and countless well-wishers to mourn his death.

He was an inspirational leader and entrepreneur. He was widely known for his kind-hearted and charismatic persona. His immense philanthropic efforts have touched the lives of many far and beyond.
