Ashraful Islam passes away

Prof Ashraful Islam, retired vice-principal of Tejgaon College, passed away on March 10 due to cardiac failure. He was 77.

He is the elder brother of Prof Atiqul Islam, vice chancellor of North South University, said a press release.

Prof Ashraf held several key leadership positions in reputed educational institutions, including the former principal of Kumilla Victoria College and the former principal of Brahmanbaria Government College.

He obtained both Honours and Masters's in economics from Dhaka University.

He left behind his wife, three sons, and a daughter.

His namaz-e-janaza was held at Uttara sector-13 Jame Mosque yesterday. He was buried at Azimpur graveyard.
