A video showing an angry foreigner throwing money at a traffic police personnel has gone viral on social media.

In the small video clip, the foreigner is repeatedly heard saying "You want money? I give you this … money!"

He then proceeds to throw the money at the police personnel. The video was uploade on social media on January 18.

The incident took place in front of RAOWA Club in Dhaka's Mohakhali area, reported Bangla daily Prothom Alo quoting Shahed Al Masud, deputy commissioner of Tejgaon Division (Traffic).

"Traffic police was checking documents of the foreigner's car. The man came out of the car as it was taking time," said Shahed Al Masud.

"The foreigner, who works at a garment factory, might have had a scheduled meeting. He got angry due to the delay. He thought the documents were being checked for money," he added.

This incident has tarnished the image of Bangladesh police and the country, Shahed Al Masud said, adding that a general diary was lodged in this connection.

"We are investigating whether money was sought from the foreigner or if police misbehaved with him. But we have not yet found any proof," he added.
