The US has made no comment on media reports saying former Army Chief Gen Aziz Ahmed's US visa has been revoked.

Several media outlets, quoting unnamed sources, reported that the US visa of Aziz Ahmed, who retired on June 24 this year, has been revoked, and it was communicated to him through a letter recently.

In an email reply to The Daily Star, a spokesperson of the US State Department said, "Visa records are confidential under U.S. law; therefore, we cannot discuss the details of individual visa cases."

The US Embassy in Dhaka also said the same.

The Bangladesh Embassy in Washington also wanted to know from the US State Department on the issue, but was not confirmed of the matter, an official of the embassy told The Daily Star.

The issue has surfaced just after the US imposed sanctions against Rab and seven of its current and former officials on human rights grounds.
