President, PM congratulate Bangladesh women's team for wining SAFF championship

President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today (September 19, 2022) congratulated the players, coaches and the manager of the Bangladesh women's team as they beat the hosts Nepal 3-1 in Kathmandu to lift the SAFF women's football championship, reports UNB.

The victory crowned Bangladesh the champions in South Asian women's football for the first time in the sixth edition, ending India's reign of five successive titles.

Hosts Nepal, meanwhile, had to contend with the runners-up trophy for the fifth time.
