PM hands over Begum Rokeya Padak to 5 women

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina this morning handed over the Begum Rokeya Padak-2022 to five women for their extraordinary contributions to various sectors.

The PM gave the Padak to the recipients at a ceremony at the city's Osmani Memorial Auditorium.

The recipients are Rahima Khatun, Prof Kamrun Nahar Begum, Farida Yasmin, Afroza Parveen, and Nasima Begum.

Each of them was given a gold medal, a cheque of Tk 4 lakh, and a certificate.

Rahima from Faridpur won the award for her contribution to women's education, Prof Kamrun Nahar from Chattogram for her role in establishing women's rights and

Farida Yasmin from Satkhira for contribution to the field of women's socio-economic development.

Besides, Afroza from Narail and Nasima Begum from Jhenidah were given the Padak for their role in raising awareness among women about their rights through literature and culture and the field of rural development respectively.
