Khaleda Zia at ICU after minor surgery

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has been placed at intensive care unit (ICU) of Evercare Hospital in Dhaka after she underwent a minor surgery today.

"Madam (Khaleda Zia) underwent a biopsy. She had conversations with her son Tariq Rahman and her brother Shamim Iskander after the surgery. Syeda Sharmila Rahman, her son Arafat Rahman's widow, also talked to her. At present she is undergoing treatment at ICU. But she is doing well," Dr Jahid Hossain, Khaleda's personal physician, said while addressing a press briefing at the BNP Chairperson's Gulshan office this afternoon.

Khaleda Zia was admitted to Evercare Hospital on October 12 for treatment and medical tests as per her doctors' advice after she went to the hospital for check-up.
