BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia was taken back to a cabin at Evercare Hospital from the coronary care unit (CCU) this morning, her personal physician said.

She was shifted back to the cabin around 11:30am, said AZM Zahid Hossain, her personal physician.

"Khaleda Zia was shifted to the CCU at 1:30am as per the recommendation of her medical board," he told The Daily Star earlier today.

He said that a medical board, consisting of local and foreign physicians, held an emergency meeting around 11:30pm yesterday to review Khaleda's health situation. The doctors decided to move her to the CCU considering her current state.

The BNP chief has been suffering from multiple health complications, including arthritis, diabetes, kidney issues, liver problems, and heart diseases for a long time, said the medical board.
