Illegal parking has become a 'cat and mouse' game: DNCC mayor

Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Atiqul Islam has expressed his frustration over the illegal parking issue on the capital's Mayor Annisul Huq Road, saying it has become a "cat and mouse" game.

"When I come to inspect the road, the trucks parked illegally are removed from the road and the drivers run away quickly. But when I leave the place, the illegal parking starts again," he said.

Mayor Atiqul made the remark while he was visiting the road and the rickshaw stands there around 12:30pm.

He also talked to the local truck drivers and workers about the parking issue.

The DNCC mayor announced that a committee consisting of five members headed by the local councillor will be formed to monitor the road. The committee will inform the DNCC regularly.

"All necessary measures will be taken to prevent illegal parking on this road," the mayor said.
