For many low-income families, affording a nutritious iftar meal is a challenge. The same goes for Ilias Mia, a rickshaw driver from Patuakhali's Kalapara town.

According to Ilias, buying iftar from the market with his daily income is impossible. However, with the help of an organisation called "Amra Kalaparabasi", he and many others can now enjoy a complete iftar meal for only one taka. He has expressed his gratitude towards the voluntary organisation that has been distributing affordable iftar items since the first  day of Ramadan.

Similarly, Ibrahim Munshi, a resident of Ferighat area, shared his concerns about the rising prices of daily necessities during Ramadan. Munshi highlighted the fact that a person needs a minimum of 50-60 taka to purchase iftar from the local market, which is not feasible for many people. However, thanks to the efforts of this organisation, they are able to get a complete iftar meal for only Tk 1.

The organisation distributes seven iftar items to 200 people every day by going around the streets of Kalapara town. Their iftar package includes gram, puffed rice, dates, piyaju, and apple.

"We have been distributing iftar since the first Ramadan and visit every neighborhood daily to distribute the items. Our primary objective is to help the underprivileged people during the holy month," said president of the organisation Nazrul Islam.

"We take a token price of Tk 1 so that the people don't feel embarrassed," he added.

However, he said they have many limitations including financial constraints, and have called upon the rich people of the society to contribute in helping the poor in this holy month.
