Former communications minister Abul Hossain no more

Former communications minister Syed Abul Hossain has passed away. He was 72.

Senior Information Officer of Road Transport and Bridges Ministry Shaikh Walid Faiej confirmed news of the former minister's death.

According to Bangla daily Prothom Alo, Abul Hossain died at United Hospital in Dhaka around 2:00am today.

Syed Abul Hossain was elected member of parliament from Madaripur-3 constituency in 1991. He was then elected to parliament for three more terms. Syed Abul Hossain served as the Communications Minister in the Awami League-led government from 2009 to 2012.
