Security forces will be on alert to save people's lives if there is any violence during the hartal on March 28 called by Bam Gonotantrik Jote, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said in Chattogram today.

The minister said this while talking to reports after inaugurating the "Police Liberation War Museum, Chattogram" today.

Bam Gonotantrik Jote (Left Democratic Alliance) called the nationwide hartal protesting the price hike of daily essentials and corruption.

"We think that the political parties will show tolerance. They will not insist anyone for vandalism or violence that may cause suffering to the people or obstruct the lives of the people," said the minister.

"Oil price has increased all over the world," he said, adding that it has not increased only in Bangladesh, our staff correspondent from Chattogram reports.

The transport costs and prices have increased at an unusual rate because of the war between Russia and Ukraine, he added.

"Bangladesh imports oil, a lot of things in our country are import-dependent," the minister added.

The unusual rise in prices on imports has an impact on our market and it is not unusual, he also said.
